The Old Mission Peninsula is approximately 18 miles long with
the 45th parrallel crossing the northern tip.

The northern part of the old mission peninsula has a large
farming community. The area is abundant in fruit producing
trees; cherries, apples, peaches, pears, and prunes. This
area has become recongnized as an award winning wine producing
area and has several wineries, and tasting rooms. Blackberries
and Raspberries also grow on the peninsula.
As
you travel the peninsula, you see the orchards, vineyards,
landscapes including East & West Grand Traverse Bay. The
Old Mission Lighthouse and park are located at the tip of
the peninsula.
The park area has a picnic and beach area. There are also
trails to take in the woods. As the seasons change a walk
on the trail brings a new viewpoint from the summer sun, to
the painted leaves of fall to the glistening white snow of
winter. the trillium announces the arrival of spring with
it's early bloom.
