Outlook express is telling you that 'OE removed access to
the following unsafe attchments in your mail: '. The solution
is a simple setting change in your Outlook
Express Options.
MICROSOFT OUTLOOK
First,
do you have a newer or older
version of Outlook?
Newer
Version Steps:
To create
a new Microsoft Outlook mail account, follow the directions
below.
* Open
your Microsoft email program.
* Click
onto the Tools menu at the top and select Email Accounts.
* A box will come up entitled email accounts; it will ask
you if you want to do one of the following:
- Add a new e-mail account
- View or change existing e-mail accounts
(you need to select add a new e-mail account and click next)
* Then
select the POP3 option and click next.
* An Internet
E-mail Settings (POP3) box will come up:
-You
will need to enter:
a. Your
name as you would like it to appear on your outgoing emails.
b. Your email address (username@pentel.net)
c. Your username
d. Your password (if the box is check you will not have
to enter your password every time you log on.
e. Your incoming mail server is a (POP3:), type mail.pentel.net
f. Your outgoing mail server (SMTP):, type mail.pentel.net
Once
you have entered the above information, click next.
* You will
then see a Congratulations! You have successfully entered
all the information required to setup your account box,
then it says, To close the wizard, click finish.
Click finish.
* Then
close Microsoft Outlook.
When you
restart Microsoft Outlook, you should be all set to use it
for sending and receiving email.
Older
Version Steps:
To create
a new Microsoft Outlook mail account, follow the directions
below.
When you
first launch Microsoft Outlook, you are asked to choose an
information service.
Choose
Internet E-mail.
Click Next.
Click the Setup Mail Account button.
Make sure
you are viewing the General properties as shown.
Enter mail.pentel.net in the first box.
Then enter
your own account information in the User Information section.
Click the Servers tab.
Enter mail.pentel.net for the POP3 server.
Your Internet
Service Provider (ISP) will supply you the SMTP server. The
mail.pentel.net.
Enter your
username in the Account Name box.
Click
the Connections tab.
If you are using Cable/DSL, click the "Connect using
my local area network (LAN)" button as shown.
If you
are using a modem, select the "Connect using my phone
line" button.
You should
already have a Dial-Up Network connection setup - probably
titled Pentel Net or Pentel Net Dial-up.
Click OK.
Please use the default location for your Outlook folder file.
Click Next.
Congratulations you are done!
Click Finish.
Click the
Send/Receive button in Outlook to check for new mail messages
or to send any outgoing messages in your outbox.
HANG
UP AFTER SENDING AND RECEIVING MAIL:
- Open
OUTLOOK EXPRESS
- On
the menu bar at the top select TOOLS
- Then
select OPTIONS
- A box
will appear with several tabs at the top, select the CONNECTION
tab
- There
will be a Dial-up section at the top
- You
want to make sure that the seond checkbox titled HANG
UP AFTER SENDING AND RECEIVING is NOT checked.
