Getting
Started with Pentel Net
Please
select which service you have:
Dial
Up Service or ADSL High Speed Service
Pentel
Net Dial Up
Here
are the steps to setup a dial up connection to the internet.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact
us.
FIRST
QUESTION: What OS do you have?
PC: Windows 95 /
98 / 2000
/ ME /
XP
MAC: 9.x /

Go to My Computer
- Find Dial Up Networking
- Then select Make New Connection
- Dial-up to the internet, click NEXT
- Set up connection manually, click NEXT
- I connect through a phone line & modem,
click NEXT
- Select modem to use, click NEXT
- Type in 223-9050 (231 should
already be entered), click NEXT
- Type in your username, in all lowercase
- Type in your password, in all lowercase
- Connection Name type Pentel Net
- Select NO to setting up an internet
mail account
- Click FINISH

Go to My Computer

setup a dial-up connection please follow the directions
below.

Go to START MENU
- Find CONNECT TO
- Then select SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS
- In the upper left hand corner, select CREATE
NEW CONNECTION
- Connect to Internet, click NEXT
- Set up connection manually, click
NEXT
- Connect using a dial-up modem, click
NEXT
- Type in Pentel Net, click NEXT
- Type in 223-9050, click
NEXT
- Type in your username, in all lowercase
- Type in your password, in all lowercase
- If you would like a shortcut placed on the desktop,
make sure to click the box, before clicking FINISH
To
setup a dial-up connection please follow the directions
below.

From the APPLE menu, select Control
Panels
- Go then to Remote Access
- Insert your username (all
lowercase)
- Insert your password (all lowercase)
- If you don't want to enter password every time, please
select the Save password checkbox
- Enter the phone number 223-9050
- When you are finished, click Connect

Net ADSL
Pentel
Net has to come out for the initial setup.
If
you change computers and the new system has XP on it,
there is a way for you to setup the dialer. If your new
computer has any other operating system on it, you will
want to contact us.
These
directions will only work for XP...
To
setup a broadband connection please follow the directions
below.

Go to START MENU
- Find CONNECT TO
- Then select SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS
- In the upper left hand corner, select
CREATE NEW CONNECTION
- At intro screen, click NEXT
- Connect to Internet,
click NEXT
- Set up connection manually, click
NEXT
- Connect using a broadband connection which
requires a username and password, click
NEXT
- Type in Pentel Net, click NEXT
- Type in your username, in all lowercase
- Type in your password, in all lowercase (confirm
your password)
- Make sure both of those boxes are checked, click
NEXT
- If you would like a shortcut placed on the desktop,
make sure to click the box, before clicking FINISH
You
can close the Network Connections screen, and try your
broadband connection shortcut from the desktop.
