If you are having trouble connecting to the internet first, look at the lights on the modem. The following is what they should be:

POWER should be solid green.
If it’s off then plug the power into the modem.

STATUS should be flashing. If it’s solid it means that the modem hasn’t loaded the firmware OR it’s locked up. Simply turn the modem off then back on again after 5 seconds.

ADSL should be solid green. If it’s flashing you do not have line sync or ALARM is red. Try unplugging all phones/filters in your house and just run a cable directly to your modem from the wall socket to eliminate the possibility of another phone device causing an issue. If that doesn’t work try another phone socket to eliminate the possibility of a faulty phone socket.

LAN 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x or USB (or WLAN if wireless) should be flashing (sometimes). Also check the Ethernet cards indicator lights on your machine.

If it’s not on at all check that the cable is plugged in. Perhaps it’s the wrong cable? You need a NON crossover cable. (Usually blue). If it still is not on, is the onboard network card even enabled in the bios? This is usually a problem with the network card itself if the ETHERNET light doesn’t come on.

Once that’s all done. Reset your computer to get the DHCP info for the computer.

Disconnect:
Close browser. Your Router is doing the connectivity.

To set up router connectivity:

Step 1: Log into the router using your WEB browser, i.e. Internet Explorer or Netscape. Type: "http://192.168.1.1" in the address bar and press Enter.

Step 2: The router login prompt should come up. Please contact Pentel Net at 223-4210 for your router name and password. Enter your username and password now.

Step 3: Click the Advanced Setup link near the left side of the page.

Step 4: You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click on WAN on the left side of the screen. Then, select PPPoE option. Click on Next.

Step 5: Enter username and your password. Click Next.

Step 6: Make sure that Enable WAN Service is checked, click Next

Step 7: Click on Save to save the settings into the router's memory.

Give the router a minute or two to reboot and reconnect.

You do not have to run any login client on any of your computers because your router logs to into Pentel Net automatically.
