OS X PPPoE Configuration For DSL
PPPoE Setup Instructions
Pentel Net uses PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) as the
connection method. PPPoE is essentially the same
as a PPP dialup connection, but instead of using
a dialup modem, the connection goes over an Ethernet
or USB connection to your broadband modem.
Step 1:
Click the Apple in the upper left, and then select
System Preferences from the drop-down menu.

Step 2:
Click the Network icon.
From the Show drop-down menu, select your ethernet
device.
Click the PPPoE tab.
Select the Connect using PPPoE option.
Leave the Service Provider field leave blank.
Leave the PPPoE Service Name field blank.
In the Account Name field, enter your login ID.
In the Password field, enter your password.
Select the Save Password option.

Step 3:
Click on the PPPoE Options... button for more
options.
Note: Setting the field Disconnect if idle for
x minutes is not needed. There are no ramifications/extra
charges for leaving the connection active, and
most customers prefer to have their DSL always
on. It is probably best to leave this selection
disabled.

Click the OK button.
Click the Save button to finish.
