If you are having trouble connecting to the internet first, look at the lights on the router. The following is what they should be:

POWER should be solid green
If it’s off then plug the power into the modem.

STATUS should be solid green; If it is flashing, it is trying to create an ADSL connection. If it is off, there is no ADSL link back to Pentel Net.
Troubleshooting connection: Simply turn the modem off then back on again after 5 seconds. If this does not bring the signal back to a solid green, try unplugging all phones/filters in your house and just run a cable directly to your modem from the wall socket to eliminate the possibility of another phone device causing an issue. If that doesn’t work try another phone socket to eliminate the possibility of a faulty phone socket.

ACTIVITY should be flashing green when ADSL data transfers.

LAN or USB should be green when on and flashing when ADSL data transfers. If off, there is no LAN or no USB link. Also check the Ethernet cards indicator lights. If it’s not on at all check that the cable is plugged in. Perhaps it’s the wrong cable? With LAN connection, you need a NON crossover cable. (Usually blue). If it still is not on, is the onboard network card even enabled in the bios? This is usually a problem with the network card itself if the ETHERNET light doesn’t come on.

Logging in to your router to configure settings:

Step 1: Open your Web browser, and type the following URL in the address/location box, and press <Enter>:
http://192.168.1.1 (This is the predefined IP address for the LAN port on the router.) A login screen appears.

Note: If you have problem connecting to the router, verify that your PC is properly configured within the subnet of the router’s predefined IP address 192.168.1.1.

Step 2: Enter your user name and password, and then click on "OK" to display the home page of the router’s web interface. Factory settings are "admin"for name and "admin" for password.

Step 3: Go to the "WAN" category on the left menu and set up "WAN " parameters. Remove Bridge Function by putting a checkmark in "Remove" and click on the "remove" button.

Add a new rule for the WAN interface, click on the “Add” button.

Step 4: The ATM PVC Configuration screen appears.

Make no changes and click on "Next"

Step 5: Connection Type Screen appears

Select the PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE), then click on Next button.

Step 6: Finish Function
After you change any item in WAN Setup, remember to click on the Finish button to apply the changes and reboot the system.

Give the router a minute or two to reboot and reconnect. Restart your computer and you should be able to access the Internet.

You do not have to run any login client on any of your computers because your router logs to into Pentel Net automatically.
